The Offerton Park Parish is located to the east of the centre of Stockport in Greater Manchester.
The Parish Council itself was founded only in 2002 following a petition to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister from local residents.
The Parish is prediminantly residential in character, although a relatively high level of green space is noticeable which is amplified by the hills of the Peak District which is visible to the east.

There are approximately 1600 dwellings in the area (with almost 4000 residents) based on the Radburn principles layout, and hence the frequency of green spaces within the Parish. The Offerton Estate, which makes up the bulk of the Parish, was built in the last 1960s and early 1970s.
The boundaries of the Parish are made up the following features: Marple Road, Alfreton Road, Lisburne Lane, Dial Park Road, Poise Brook, Offerton Hall School and Blackstone Road.
