The Parish Council is pleased to announce that it has secured Charter Mark recognition for a second year following its recent independent annual surveillance visit. The independent assessor confirmed that the Parish Council continues to achieve the Charter Mark standard and has even improved its compliance against the government's criteria.
Stockport Council will shortly be undetaking a consultation with residents on the Offerton Estate in relation to proposals for a new traffic management scheme for our area. The Parish Council would like to encourage residents to return their consultation document when it arrives in order that your views are taken into account.

The Parish Council has decided NOT to increase the Precept Tax for at least the next two years, but is still determined to make every effort to maintain existing services whilst continuing to seek additional outside funding to improve the quality of life for all residents in the Community.

Members of the Offerton Park Parish Computer Club have been involved in a ten week long multimedia project titled 'Digital Stories'. The stories combine creative writing, images, and voice recordings in a digital format. Four projects are now available for download and viewing from the Parish Council's website by clicking here, or by using the Youth Projects link on the left hand side.

At the 14 December 2005 meeting of the Parish Council, Mr John Smith was co-opted onto the Council to represent the Dial Park Ward. Offerton residents can further enjoy the festivities this year as Parish Councillors switched on the Offerton Christmas lights at the Lisburne Lane Roundabout on Tuesday, 29 November. The Parish Council wishes all residents a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
