The Parish Council is pleased to announce that it has secured Charter Mark recognition for a second year following its recent independent annual surveillance visit. The independent assessor confirmed that the Parish Council continues to achieve the Charter Mark standard and has even improved its compliance against the government's criteria.
Stockport Council will shortly be undetaking a consultation with residents on the Offerton Estate in relation to proposals for a new traffic management scheme for our area. The Parish Council would like to encourage residents to return their consultation document when it arrives in order that your views are taken into account.

A new free swim bus is now running every Monday for a trial period. The service starts at 12.15 pm and returns at 2.00 pm. There are a number of pick-up points throughout the Parish, including Dial Park School gates (on Half Moon Lane), Dial Park Church, Corner of Trawden and Reedshaw and the corner of Shawfield Court. There are now new sports and play facilities in place on Blackstone and the first of the improvements on Half Moon Lane (Redgra) have now been completed. Hopefully more will follow, but we must now all ensure that we take good care of those facilities with which residents have been provided in order to safeguard them for the enjoyment of all residents of the Parish for a long time to come.

The Parish Council intends to continue with its tradition of holding an Annual Christmas event to be held on 2 December 2006 for residents of the Parish, and this year's event to be held at the Offerton Social Club promises to be better than ever. The Parish Council is very hopeful that the long awaited plans for the redvelopment of the Precinct area will be announced early in the New Year. In the meantime, it is hoped that residents will continue to support the existing traders who have all remained loyal to the community despite the decline in the area in recent years.
