Following the by-elections held on Thursday, 29 May 2008 the Parish Council would like to welcome Councillors Jim Bates (Dial Park Ward) and Edward Gallacher (Offerton Hall Ward) onto the Parish Council. The Returning Officer has received a petition from ten local government electors in each of the Dial Park and Offerton Hall wards requesting that a bye-election be held in respect of the current vacancies. The election must now take place within 60 days of notice of the vacancies. For further information on the election and the process to be followed, please click here.

Residents will now have started to receive the December issue of the Parish newsletter. Included with this issue is the Annual Residents Survey. Residents are encouraged to complete and return their survey as this will help us plan future services in the Parish. The survey can also be downloaded from this website by clicking here (538 kb).

The October/November edition of the Parish Council's newsletter - 'Community News' - is now being distributed to all residents thorugh the post. It is also available on the Parish Council's website by clicking here. In addition, residents should also be aware that the agenda for the next meeting of the Parish Council on 12 November is also available here.

Representatives from the Offerton Park Parish will be making the journey to Dodge City in the USA between 3 and 7 April 2008 as part of an exciting venture to increase the strength of the historic links between our two communities. There are two vacancies on the Parish Council in the Dial Park & Offerton Hall Wards. An election will be held if, within 14 days, at least ten electors submit a written request to that effect. If no request is made, the vacancies will be filled by the Parish Council. Copies of the notice can be viewed by clicking on Dial Park (51 kb) or Offerton Hall (51 kb).

The Parish Council are inviting expressions of interest for co-option as councillor onto the Parish Council to fill the two existing vacancies (one in each of the Dial Park and Offerton Hall wards). Any expressions of interest should be sent to the Parish Clerk by emailing craig.ainsworth@stockport.gov.uk by no later than 4.00 pm on Friday, 18 April 2008.
